President - Roger Hedgecoe
Roger has lived all his life in Barnet; he started keeping bees over eighteen years ago. His first hive was second hand which he acquired only after he had caught his first swarm in a cardboard box.
Roger has passed his British Beekeepers Association Basic Assessment and he operates 6-10 Beehives in the Barnet area. Roger is an accomplished engineer and designer and has pushed the boundaries of hive design and ergonomics to create the next generation of beehive and tooling to assist this continuously evolving science.
He is also the chairman of the Barnet and District Beekeepers Association with a special responsibility for recruiting and training new members. He is also one of the Instructors on the Associations Basic beekeeping Course for Beginners and is the Associations Honey Show Secretary.
Science Officer - Robert Coselli
Robert Has lived In Southgate for most of his life: he started keeping bees over ten years ago. The first hive he acquired was from a farm in Ware which was later found to be riddled with Disease and to this end prompted his interest with the biology and pathology of the subject.
Robert has passed his British Beekeepers Association Basic Assessment and he Operates 12 -15 hives in Barnet, Enfield and Highgate concentrating on breeding and improving the species and passing on the art of beekeeping through active communication with beekeepers from around the world and experimenting with new ideas and techniques.
Many of Robert's observations have prompted modifications and additions to existing hive design and bee husbandry in general and when the beekeeping season stops in the UK for the winter Robert has a research apiary in Australia which continues his relentless work on the subject.
He is also one of the Instructors on the Associations Basic beekeeping Course for Beginners and the Associations Honey Show steward.
