Collection Service
Barnet and District Beekeepers Association has a number of members who will act as Swarm Collection Officers. They will collect swarms of honey bees providing that they are not in an inaccessible place where it would be beyond the Swarm Officers physical abilities to acquire it. They do not deal with any other sort of insect i.e. wasps, hornets etc.
Swarm Collection Officers are expected to follow the ‘Protocol’ as shown in the attached document, which is in PDF format for down loading.
On arrival at the swarm’s location, the Swarm Collection Officer will, wherever possible obtain the property owners or his representative’s agreement to carry out an assessment and collect the swarm. The Agreement is as shown in the attached document which is in PDF format for downloading.
